Janet Hsu serves as Saban Brands' Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this role, Hsu oversees the company's world-class portfolio of global entertainment and lifestyle properties and is instrumental in acquiring additional brands and building new intellectual properties.
Prior to joining Saban Brands, Hsu served as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sanrio, Inc., the global lifestyle brand best known for pop icon Hello Kitty. While at Sanrio, Hsu achieved unprecedented success in growing Sanrio across multiple channels and strategically reinvigorating the company's direction. Hsu helped transform and modernize Sanrio with innovative marketing strategies. She also led the company's expansion and diversification of new retail, licensing and entertainment partnerships.
Prior to Sanrio, Hsu served as SVP of Consumer Products, Strategic Business Units and Product Development at MGA Entertainment. Hsu also held executive positions at Mattel Inc., Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdale's, among others.
Hsu earned a BA in Psychology from Wellesley College.
